You may ask yourself: How can I make sure my hook stands out and engages my potential followers? What do I say to make them want to keep watching?
I’ve been there – woah, I still am, whenever I create new Reels! But there’s one thing I know for sure, but I learnt it the hard way: if you want to boost your Reel’s views, it needs to have a good hook. You need to leave your community wanting more.
The hook should be used at the beginning of your Reel to pique the viewer’s interest.
This part is your last chance to catch your viewer’s attention, feel your vibe and make them want more. Protip? It should be straight to the point, sweet and short, and catchy.
A few types of statements that can serve as a good hook for your Reel can be:
- Provocative opinion
- Inquisitive question
- Anecdote
- Quote
When you’ve grabbed the attention – you need to KEEP IT
So, you’ve done the hard work and grabbed the attention of your potential followers with your Reel. But, now here comes the real challenge: keeping their attention.
After all, if you can’t keep their attention, all your hard work will have been for nothing. We don’t want that, of course.
So, how do you keep your viewers hooked?
First and foremost, it’s all about being engaging. Remember, you have mere seconds to capture your viewers’ attention, so you need to make sure your Reel is interesting, and entertaining. This could mean incorporating humor, or showing something unique and exciting.
For example, let’s say you’re a food blogger and you’ve just posted a Reel showcasing your latest cheesecake recipe. To keep your viewers hooked, you might include a funny joke about cheese (ha, ha), or show a unique baking technique.
Next? It’s all about being relatable. Your viewers want to feel like they can connect with you, so make sure your Reel is somehow relatable and relevant to your audience. For example, if you’re a fitness influencer, show a workout routine that is suitable for people at all levels of fitness.
Trust me, it really makes a difference.
Trending audios – they’re here to help
When you use trending audios in your Reels, it’s like hitting the jackpot. Why? Well, for starters, when you use a popular sound, you basically automatically tap into a massive audience of people who are already listening to and engaging with that audio.
And, let’s not forget about the numbers – let them speak! According to a recent study, Reels that use trending audios have a 68% higher chance of being viewed than those that don’t. That’s right, 68%! In my HUMBLE opinion, that’s a lot, So, if you want to boost your Reel views, using trending audios is a no-brainer.
That particular Reel received 441 likes. More than 10 times more than one the day before. It was a significant uplift. So I’d say really categorically that using hashtags, increases the number of likes each Reel receives.
